The lamest ever W.W. Royal Rumble surprise was the fact that Daniel Bryan, now Brian Danielson, never turned up in the 2014 one, meaning poor Ray Mysterio came out number 30 and got booed. That will always be the worst surprise. It wasn't really, like an anti-surprise, but one, nobody ever thought Ray Mysterios would get booed ever, right? He's never actually been a proper heel, maybe in WCW when he's part of the pretty young things. That's what they're the dirty animals. I can't remember about that group, right? Well, they meant to be hills. Even then, though, I don't think that was Ray Mysterio being booked to be his best self, for lack of a better term. He's just the, he's like a Ricky steamboat, right? You just love this guy because he broke down doors and he changed the game and he could be the best wrestler of all time. Some people, people, sometimes people say that.

I'm like, yeah, you could be right. But I mean, that's how bad it was. Right, that's how awful it was. People expected Daniel Bryan. I mean, people thought he was going to win it. So it's not being it at all. I mean, that's why WW most likely didn't put it in minutes. They were like,

if we do that, nobody will get mad, he does get thrown out, which is exactly what happened

in 2015, but we don't do that, nobody will get mad.

Of course, it was nothing to do with Ray Mysteria. It was just he was the last guy. It could have been me. It could have been my nan. it could have been you.

Like whoever was going to walk out of that three zero position was going to get absolutely

slaughtered because that told everyone in that arena, you ain't getting it, right? That thing that you wanted, that thing you were desperate for, and that thing we thought we were going to tie into WrestleMania 30, it's not happening. So I think it was an instinctual thing, but that surprised me. And I know other people have entered, like the boogeyman was a surprise one year, but I mean, good for the boogeyman, right?

That doesn't really affect me today, especially because there's been some years where the Royal Rumble has zero star power. Was the 95 or the 96th Rumble? It was a mid-90s Rumble where they said it was two minutes intervals and instead it was like 42 seconds because we don't have any stars. So what we can do, they had a few stars, but not many.

What we can do is you can overpack the ring and that will make the Royal Rumble really exciting as opposed to relying on big names. But it's always the one that pops into my brain because even like, I'm sure somebody will say Drew Carey, which I think was 2001. Love it. So stupid. And it's so dumb. And I think the Royal Rumble should always lead into that kind of a thing. But to take someone that the fans were desperate to become your top new baby face and to ruin the other baby face you have in the process. And let's not forget, one of the reasons Daniel Bryan wasn't in this is because I don't think he was playing for the WrestleMania 30 main event. and we had to just claw and scratch and do all these things to finally get there, which we did. So, you know, beggars, can't be choosers. But yeah, it was a nightmare. It was a bad surprise. Never do it again. That's why I was so happy Jay Usa won in 2024, it's 25. He was so over and he won. I know that there's this whole back and forth about J.O.O.S. these days, it doesn't matter. I'd much rather J. Uso one it, that of John Sina,

simply because I've seen John Sina win rule rumbas before, and this loud jay, we tried with Jay Usa. Now I think it would be a

success, other people would say otherwise, but sometimes I think that's what the rule rumble

should have been for, which ties into this, right? Daniel Bryan was over. Daniel Brown was hot.

Let him win the Royal Rumble and see.

Look, I think we can all agree that the 2022 men's Royal Rumble was theirs.

But we're getting late on in the running order.

And I think the only two surprises that aren't just main roster people were John and Oxville
