2025 has been something of a mixed year for W.E. While the company remains more profitable than ever before and is by a huge margin the runaway leader of a seemingly shrinking market, public perception has soured this year thanks to matters on screen and off.

If you compare the general moods to, say, December24, it's not quite night and day, but more

similar to the dull, hazy, early stages of dawn and day. Creative concerns have become

louder and greater in number this year. Things like John Cena's botched heel turn and

Ron Killings post-return decline have inspired more complaints than at any

other point in the Triple H era.

Meanwhile, escalating ticket costs are pricing ordinary people out of attending live shows,

and WWE's expanding role in politics serves only to drive its audience in half.

2025 hasn't been a total nightmare.

On the balance of things, it's been quite solid, but there are definitely some worthy

complaints and a few reasons to feel cynical about the 12 months ahead.

Number 12, another dismal draft. The WWE draft is still an appealing concept. The idea of

rearranging Raw Smackdown and NXT with fresh rosters, presenting fans with all kinds of new

and exciting matches and feuds, can be mouth-watering when it's done right.

But sadly, WWE's frankly dull and counterproductive approach has ruined the whole experience.

The 2024 draft proved to be another complete waste of time.

The same could be said for the 2025 transfer window that acted as this year's superstar

shake-up equivalent.

For whatever reason, WWE just stick to their own rules these days, with wrestlers routinely

swapping brands in spite of the annual reshuffles.
