Summary

The Lakers played three great quarters against Indiana Monday, before blowing a huge lead in the fourth quarter. Wednesday against Portland, they again built up a huge lead in the final period, but decided this time to finish strong. The result: a 128-109 win over Portland at the Crypt. It was a huge bounce back for the team, fueled by a strong game from LeBron James (31 points on only 18 shots), Anthony Davis (27/12 with three blocks) and Austin Reaves (22 points), who continued his strong play through November. This was exactly what the Lakers needed to restore a little confidence before heading out for the first extended road trip of the season, starting Friday in Milwaukee. Davis and James found a great formula in the fourth quarter, as well, a place where James has often been inefficient and Davis has flat disappeared. 23 points between the two (with Davis leading the way), a higher usage rate for Davis than James. Overall, they found more ways to get Davis moving around and LeBron worked far quicker than he has often done this year, allowing defenses to load up against him and generally taking the air out of L.A.'s offense. And Reaves! So much to like with what he's doing, and how. If this is who the Lakers have going forward, it makes a big difference in what they present other teams. He can be part of a "middle class" to the roster that has been missing in a big way. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers bounce back, remove some of the sting from Monday's loss. And Austin Reaves is thriving. SEGMENT 2: LeBron bounces back, not just in what he did but how. SEGMENT 3: A great finish for Anthony Davis, and a nice fourth quarter formula for the team's stars.
