Russia's war in Ukraine exposed some major problems in global energy markets this year,

making the transition to renewables that much more important.

But in this interview with Kyle Bass and Will Van Loat, the CEO of one of the world's

largest traditional and alternative energy investors, he makes the case that we're nowhere

close to achieving net zero emissions.

Will is one of Kyle's most trusted energy advisors, and he argues that this transition

is of the utmost importance, and if we get it wrong, the consequences will be dire.

Will is the CEO and founder of Quantum Energy.

Will tell us a little bit about quantum energy, how long you've been investing in the

energy markets, and what quantum does both on the alternative side of energy, wind and

solar, as well as hydrocarbons.

So Kyle, we are a private equity funds where we got our start in energy, primarily upstream

25 years ago.

Over these 25 years, we've, on the traditional energy side, oil and gas, we've grown to be

one of the largest developers of oil and gas in North America.

As a matter of fact, over the last kind of five to seven years, quantum portfolio companies

have been in the top three, in aggregate, in the top three drillers in North America,

changing places, typically with Exxon and EOG, as one of the top three drillers in North

America.
