Hey there, my friends. Did you know that the kingdom of God, which believers in Jesus Christ are a part of, is God's end game?

to pray with me. Our Lord and our God, it is our desire to understand your word rightly today,

so guide us in that and teach us how to apply it rightly to our lives as we think toward the end of time and the role your kingdom plays.

We ask it in Jesus saying. Amen.

Okay, Matthew 24, 9 through 14 is where we're going to be looking.

Now, Jesus is speaking to his disciples.

Okay, so get that in your mind. His audience is the 12, the who he's called out, and he's giving

them instruction about some things that are on the horizon. He says, then, okay, so stop for a moment,

he's pointing to a time in their future.

Based on all he's already taught them, he says,

then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death.

And you will be hated by all nations for my sake.

Now pause for a moment.

Jesus is speaking directly to his 12, right? So he's describing something they should expect to experience. Now from our vantage point in history, if we look back

in time at the history of what actually happened, we see that indeed, every single one of his

disciples was persecuted. Most of them were put to death. There's only one of

the 12 who did not get put to death by authorities for their faithfulness to Jesus and their proclamation

of his gospel. And he goes on in verse 10, and then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another

and many false prophets will arise and lead many astray okay pause did that happen historically yes it did
