Hey friends, have you ever had someone in your life who cared enough about you

to give you a genuine warning about something dangerous you were heading toward?

Today we're going to read a passage about that.

And we've got to take it to heart because it's so important that we hear what Jesus is saying

in our kingdom series today.

We're going to be looking at Matthew 23, 16 through 22.

Okay, we're looking at Matthew 23, verses 16 through 22.

Now, in the context, Jesus has been speaking to the religious leaders of his day,

and he's been speaking to them very directly and very, I guess you would say sternly, listen to these words.

Woe to you, blind guides, who say, if anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing. But if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.

You blind fools.

For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred?

And you say, if anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing.
