Some true crime events are historical in nature, do in large part to their connections with politics. Today's story is one

of those events. On May 4th, 1970, an event took place during the height of war protests and caused

four young students their lives. So if you like your coffee hot, but your bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a

morning cup of murder. To understand how today's story unfolded, you must understand the climate

of the world during the time and why tensions were so high. As you may know, America's

involvement in the Civil War in Vietnam created a massive divide within

this country, with many standing solidly on the side expressing their distaste.

With the number of American troops in Vietnam steadily rising over the years, with more than

500,000 on the ground in 1968, There were no real tangible results outside increasing opposition and protests back at home.

When Richard Nixon was elected that same year, he promised to enact a secret plan that would

end the conflict.
