0:00.0	In our world, there is so much sorrow, misery, and sadness.
0:12.6	We see indicators all around us that reveal to us that most people are looking for something,
0:18.2	anything, that can bring them true joy. In this study on joy,

1:00.2	teacher from history. Just a name and a book somewhere? No, the Lord Jesus Christ is very much alive.
1:09.1	He is alive and he lives in those who have put their faith in him.
1:14.5	This is the great joy that we have a living Christ and he lives on the inside. I want to bring
1:20.5	you to two passages, one in Matthew chapter 28 and the other in Luke chapter number 24 and both
1:26.8	have one thing in common, a living Christ.
1:30.1	In fact, the context of Matthew 28 and Luke 24 is just after our Lord was raised from the dead.
1:38.6	So we have him who was crucified and buried and now is alive.
1:46.3	And look at the joy that it produces.
1:49.2	Matthew chapter 28 and verse number eight says of these early disciples,
1:53.8	and they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy.
2:04.1	And did run to bring his disciples word.
2:09.9	Now, those two things typically don't go together, fear and joy, all, but they do here because they were in awe.
2:12.0	They were in amazement.
2:14.0	They trembled at the thought of the power of Almighty God, but yet this fear brought them exuberance,
2:22.3	tremendous overwhelming, great joy.
