We're going to talk about preaching the gospel from the Old Testament. Get that

preaching the gospel from the Old Testament. We're going to talk about what in the time of Jesus, what the Jewish people got wrong,

and it's an essential salvation issue that they were confused about in large part.

And we'll also talk about how the Old Testament only makes sense

through the light of Jesus Christ. You really can't make full sense of the Old Testament

without Jesus, without Messiah, Otherwise, it's all failed.

It's failed prophecy, failed anticipation,

but through Christ it just becomes clear.

And we'll get into something I'm personally really

interested in, which is this.

When Paul and other New Testament authors,

when they quote the Old Testament,

sometimes we expect them to be quoting it a certain way

and they're quoting it in a different way.

You know, you read the passage, you read the quote,

and you go, oh, I get what you're going at. Then you you read the passage you read the quote and you go I get what

you're going at then you go to the Old Testament passage you look it up sometimes you

look at it and go I don't know if this means what it but I was thinking it

meant in the passage I'm confused about how you're using this old testament passage in the new

Testament. So we'll talk about how Paul's use of the Old Testament is not maybe

what you thought it was on the surface, but's super clever I mean it is strategically

wise how he's using the Old Testament so we'll just talk about that as well.
