In Hebrew 1315, it says, therefore by him, by Jesus, let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God. That is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. So we

offer a sacrifice of praise. I think it's super interesting that it's not just called praise, but a sacrifice of praise.

Because sacrifice implies loss or pain or some sort of struggle, you know, it implies some sort of cost on the part of the person giving, the sacrifice

of praise.

You can worship God whenever you want, wherever you want, but you cannot worship God however you want.

That's the thing. I can worship Him anywhere. I can worship Him everywhere, anytime, but not however I want.

God's got specific things about how he can be worshipped.

He goes, Jesus said he must be worshipped in spirit and truth.

He must be worshipped in spirit and in truth. But there's a

modern confusion that we go through with worship because music is an emotional

thing and that's a good thing about music. It's a one it's's a one it's a wonderful thing I'm glad

it's it's not lacking in that but this unfortunately means it can also be used to

manipulate or it can be used in a selfish sense where the music is actually for me and not for the Lord.

The music is there to please me, to pleasure me, and people will actually pick a church just based on the music.

Does the music make me feel good? Okay I'll go there and then you're I don't

know what to say it's like this isn't about you feeling good. Now worship or

praising God feels good sometimes.

Sometimes it feels like nothing.

Why?

Because my feelings are not in touch with reality.

And just because God's being glorified and wonderful things are happening doesn't mean I'm going to notice in my heart.

My heart might just be thinking like, I didn't get enough sleep. I don't feel good.
