Hello listeners, the story you're about to hear is going to take you to Prince George

On the evening of August 1st 1989, Ronnie and Doreen Jack went to their neighborhood pub looking for a bite to eat and maybe a few drinks

Instead they found a mystery man and an enticing job offer that would forever change their lives and the lives of everyone who loved them

Ronnie would do logging, Doreen could help in the kitchen and their two kids would be taken care of at the remote camp's daycare facility

Transportation wouldn't be a problem either. The mystery man could drive them to the camp that night

The last time any member of the Jack family was seen was just a few short hours later

They were packing up some of their belongings into a truck

In this episode of nighttime, I've invited Canadian crime content creator Madeleine Klein to help me try and understand what may have happened to the Jack family

So let's get into it

30 years ago Ronnie Jack his common law wife Doreen and their son's Russell and Ryan vanished a mystery unlike any other in Canada

There hasn't been anyone before the Jack family and there hasn't been a family that's disappeared since to this extent

Certainly that's been unsolved

In a Prince George bar on August 1st 1989, Jack was approached by a man offering him and Doreen work at a nearby logging camp that had child care

A family of four packed for the trip Jack called his mother Madeleine said we will be packed in eight days

Mom don't worry about us but if I don't come back look at me

They left their residence with this unknown male and have not been seen since over the years

There's been people that have come forward and provided information who they believe that is and there's certainly been people that we've looked at

But to this point we have not located or identified who that person is
