joined as always by Matt Fortuna. We were talking about a game that we didn't think we would

spend more than five minutes hatching out afterwards. But there is, man, there is a lot to get to

and not all of it on a 90-second delay. Notre Dame 32, Toledo 29. Matt, where do you want to

start? You, I was there. I have thoughts. I have peacock. I have thoughts. Yeah, you have thoughts

that are just 90 seconds later than mine. What did you make of that? It was really one of the more

bizarre Notre Dame games. I've covered it. I've covered many, many bizarre ones. There are a lot of thoughts. There are a lot of numbers. There are a lot of takeaways. The one that really is like seared into my mind right now is Nerdym just played a Mac team. A good Mac team, but I mean, they've not won the MAC title yet under Jason Candle as good as they've been.

And they played them to a draw on the ground game, 132 to 132.

That's not supposed to happen.

It's been so much time, I feel like in the preseason kind of dismissing Cincinnati and some other not quite upper echelon teams on

Notre Dame schedule thinking they just can't hang physically with Notre Dame and my God like

that narrative got flipped completely on its head today like last week was one thing Florida

State which as poor as they've been in recent years, has really good players, had national TV, sellout crowd, emotional moment. This was a Mac team that, frankly, I didn't think played all that well. They were terrible offensively. I mean, Polito should have won this game. Like, a halfway decent offense would have won this game against Notre Dame today.

And Toledo just couldn't do it.

I mean, they're probably sick on the bus ride home right now.

I know it doesn't affect their place in the Mac race,

but like that was a golden opportunity.

Toledo let slip away.

And if you're Notre Dame and you're on the other side of that,

hearing that losing Mac team being described in those terms when they came into your house and nearly knocked you off.
