We’re talking about pressure and dogs. It’s not the sort of pressure to make sure your dog’s leash matches the collar, or for your dog to be looking good in front of your friends. It’s the bubble of pressure that surrounds all dogs. This sort of pressure is essential to understand for your dog’s comfort and everyone’s safety around dogs. It will also help you become a great communicator with every dog you meet.

In the episode you'll hear:

• My explanation on how the interweb fairies work.
• About me being a hugger and our individual socially acceptable space.
• How all dogs respond to pressure.
• Why knowing about a dog’s bubble is important for safety.
• The reason running towards your dog is counter productive.
• About the fictional world of greeting dogs and what the facts are.
• What to ask instead of “can I pat your dog?”
• How the location can expand the bubble for your dog.
• Why it’s okay if your dog does not greet everyone.

Now, I'm not talking about the pressure of making sure your dog's leash matches the collar

0:23.0

when you are walking them down the street. I'm also not talking about the pressure of your dog

0:29.9

looking good in front of your friends. I am talking about an entirely different kind of pressure

0:36.7

and it will make you look like a dog psychic

0:40.3

once you understand how to apply that pressure. But first I want to talk to you about something

0:46.6

a little more technical, about the internet technicalities, about something I know nothing about.

0:52.0

And so I rarely talk about it because it's probably best to stick to what you know something about. How I understand it is in the world of podcasts,

1:00.3

there's fairies and they prepare these algorithms that control who gets to know that I have

1:07.9

a new podcast. And the way these algorithms work, the fairies add up how many

1:13.5

people have subscribed to my podcast. And when a lot of people subscribe, the fairies say,

1:20.6

this girl might have something good to talk about. Let's share it with other people. So,

1:24.3

if you haven't yet subscribed to the podcast, either on YouTube, iTunes,

1:31.0

or on Podbean or wherever you're watching or listening, most of you listen to the podcast,

1:37.6

please subscribe, make the interweb fairies happy and that will allow the show to be seen and heard by a lot more

1:46.4

people and that's my ultimate goal is to help the dogs all over the world. That's it about me

1:52.0

getting technical. Pressure. Imagine there is a air bubble between you and every dog you

1:59.8

encounter your own dog and other people's dogs.

2:02.8

It's kind of like people have a bubble. Like, if you ever seen the Seinfeld episode of the

2:10.5

close talker, do yourself a favor. It's a good one. We have this socially acceptable distance

2:14.9

that we want to be away from other people when we're talking and with in the world of COVID, it's gotten to be two hockey sticks away, right?

2:22.1

Dogs are no different. They actually are very respectful of this. And when you know this,
