But a bizarre, wild, very confusing happenstance taking place right next door to us with the American Airlines Center and the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks who have sued each other over the main contingent in this is the future of the American Airlines Center,

what these teams are going to do, whether they will stay in Dallas or not,

and the MAVs have discovered something it looks like from a year ago.

They discovered a year ago,

that in the original language of the contract that these franchises signed back in 1998,

when they were going to agree to the American Airlines Center together

and put all that in motion to move in there as co-tenants,

part of the language of that contract is that they both would maintain headquarters of their

franchises in the city limits of Dallas.

The stars moved their headquarters to Frisco in 2003.

The Mavs pointed that out.

There's been some back and forth on all of this, and now the Mavs are suing the stars for

breach of contract, which allows them to

immediately take any of the money earned at the American Airlines Center.

The MAVs now can take, put it into escrow, and the stars are saying it's tens of millions

of dollars.

And now the stars are countersuing today.

And it all did start a year ago, a few weeks before the team in the city of Dallas,

the Mavericks, by the way, say the stars backed out of that $300 million deal to

renovate the American Airlines Center.

So according to the lawsuit that the mass put out there, the city of Dallas and the Dallas

Mavericks, the stars agreed to remain in the AAC, the American Airlines Center, through 20161 and would have paid no renovation costs.
