Last Friday, Donnie embarked on the first of what could be 50 years as the master of ceremonies to officially open the State Fair of Texas.

Yeah, I don't know if I can see myself being 104 doing that.

I disagree.

Are you not committed to this whole thing?

Oh, I'm very committed to it.

And yeah, it was really cool when Carissa came up to make the announcement,

and I spoiled the surprise because I went to go get to water in the cumulus cafe with Travis

walked in with Carissa.

I had no idea she was coming up.

But yeah, they had an opening for the MC because the nice gentleman who did it for 30 years beforehand retired.

And thanks to her, Mitchell Gleber, who's the president, Gilbert Gersh, who's the chairman of the board out there at the State Fair of Texas.

They all have a meeting trying to see who they would get to replace the former MC.

My name came up and they all agreed that it would be a good fit.

And it was really truly a fun time and an honor and a privilege to be up there.

And of course, we wanted to make sure that we dressed apart.

So I got a hat from the fine folks at the fair.

I got my boots from Ruho boots.

That's right.

And I got some jeans from Lucchese.

I felt like I was dressed apart.

And the blazer was mine.

I already had that one.
