Today I'm talking to one of our culture's wisestan, host of Pulling the Thread.

On this show, we pull apart the web in which we all live to understand who we are and why we're here.

tiny seeds of awareness so that we might all collectively learn and grow.

Here is today's guest, Eleanor Dixon, on our potential to resolve the imbalance between the

feminine and the masculine. We have to recapture the fullness of our own humanity in a feminine form.

I am a big Eleanor Dixon fan.

She is one of the wise elders of our time.

She's spent more than 35 years as a Jungian therapist and nearly 20 years as a community

builder and chief psychologist at a trauma hospital. And she, of course, co-wrote Dancing in the

Flames with her good friend, Marian Woodman, who is probably one of the most famous

youngian writers ever. Unfortunately, Marion is no longer with us. That book

has been so formative in my own life and work, and particularly to how I figured out what I was

up to in my book on our best behavior. It was such an honor to talk to Eleanor today about the new

universal mythos that our culture so badly needs.

I loved hearing Eleanor's historical perspective on how so much of our modern world is actually shaped by the great plague.

We talked about the idea of living in a pre-Christian world, and we talked about matriarchies and patriarchies, and how neither

is the right fit for us. We also talked about inspiring female archetypes, where Eleanor sees hope,
