So it is the holiday, happy July 4th to all our listeners out there and we are off this week but we wanted to bring you something from our colleagues at another New York Times

podcast the interview. Yeah, this is kind of sort of our tribute to America is how I

would describe what we're about to do. We're taking the day off and we're

bringing you a great American.

where every week one of the two hosts Lulu Garcia Navarro

and David Marquesi interview famous and notable people.

Everyone from Anne Hathaway to Charlemagne the God to Serena Williams is a really

great show. I've been really enjoying it and there was a recent interview that

one of their hosts Lulu Garcia Navarro did that we thought would be

interesting to bring to hard fork listeners on our week off.

Yeah, it was Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, and it's hard to imagine somebody sort of more at the center of tech and culture than Ted has been over the past decade plus, and I was really interested to hear some of what he had to say about the modern condition.

Anyway, we thought you would all enjoy hearing this interview with Ted Surandos, so we thought we'd bring you this episode of the
