People say, oh, if I had a better job, I had a better wife, I had a better

family, had a better situation, better, better, this, better, that, didn't have all these problems,

all these problems, all the, be thankful.

Thanksgiving is the most powerful thing.

I'm telling you in your life, if you can ever cultivate a thankful thankful heart you can solve so many problems. All you have to do is just

keep offering God thanks and praise and it'll eliminate all your problems. You just

don't see him anymore. Welcome to Grace to you with John MacArthur. I'm your host Phil Johnson. Do you love your job? I mean really love it. Hopefully you have a job that you're

passionate about, one that gives you a sense of purpose. Nobody wants a job that's boring.

It just gets you from day to day with no real joy.

And yet, something far worse than a tedious, dull job is an apathetic lifeless church.

People who come together and just go through the motions.

There's little or no spiritual growth and basically zero effective service for the kingdom.

How can your Church avoid that? And an individual what can you do to help breathe life into your congregation?

I've entitled this brief series, The Anatomy of a Church.

We've borrowed the biblical analogy of a body and we've said that basically we could reduce

the body to four elements. A body is skeleton, internal systems, muscles, and flesh.

And so is a church that is the body of Christ.

We said that there are some things that frame and form the church, without which it would be a shapeless blob.

Now secondly, we talked about internal systems.

The body has to have internal systems.
