It's one of the more memorable tales of mistaken identity.

Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite and other explosives, had a brother who died in

1888 and as the story goes, the newspaper published Alfred's obituary by mistake. The obituary referred to Alfred as a merchant of death who had become

rich from inventions that maimed and killed people. Those words purportedly had a strong effect on Alfred, so much so that in his

will, Alfred designated a large part of his fortune for the creation and endowment of the

famous Nobel Prize, which rewards people for their

outstanding contributions to society. Well whether or not that false

obituary was ever published and there is some doubt about it. The story raises a good

question. If you could read your own obituary what would it say? What would your life be

known for?
