All week this week, we've been talking about the prayer for real revival this is

meditation of prayer it begins in the word the desperation of prayer that reaches to our heart, and then the

petition of prayer that is concentrated on God's mercy. One final time, I want to visit this

prayer of Abakic today, and show you the intention of prayer. What is it we are really aiming for? How would

you know if revival came? How would you know if your prayer

was answered? Would it just simply be by emotion? Would it be because things go better? Would it be

because the church building is full? How would we know that the Lord has truly answered this prayer.

Well, I want to remind you that the great aim of prayer is never to get something from God.

It is to get to God.

In other words, we're not just trying to get something from the Lord.

We're trying to get someone, the Lord himself.

We don't just need something from his hand. We need to see

his face. We need the presence of Almighty God. And so that is why the great intention of prayer must be

this. We want to come nearer to the Lord, and we want the Lord to come nearer to us. Let me read
