with you once again to captain this ship into the dark murky waters of one of the more captivating mysteries in American true crime.

The Disappearance of Mara Murray. On the evening of Monday, February 9, 2004, the 21-year-old U-mass Amher student veered off the road while

driving Route 112 eastbound through Haveral New Hampshire and a 1996 Saturn. The vehicle struck a tree,

deploying both airbags, and spun to a stop on the shoulder facing westbound in the

eastbound lane. A few nearby residents witnessed a young woman outside the car after the crash, and one even came in contact with her. But she refused his help.

Minutes later, she was gone forever. In more than 14 years since Mara Murray's

disappearance, evidence surrounding the case has brought forth theories of everything from murder to succumbing to the harsh winter elements to creating a new identity somewhere in Canada.

Yet among the accusations, assumptions, and obsessions surrounding this tantalizing case,

it becomes evident that the only truth we can ever know is Mara's fate.

But we're no closer to that answer today than we were on February 9, 2004.

So let's go back in time and dig up the past. Let's enter the mind of Mara Murray.
