Our sermon text for this morning is Romans chapter 7 verses 7 to 12.

What shall we say then is the lost sin? May it never be? On the contrary, I would not have come to no sin except through

the law, for I would not have known about covening if the law had not said, you shall not covet.

But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind.

For apart from the law, sin is dead.

I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came,

sin became alive and I died. And this commandment which was to result in life

proved to result in death for me.

For sin, taking an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.

So then, the law is holy and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

Father, what God is great like our God, who rides through the heavens to our help. in his majesty through the skies.

The Eternal God is our dwelling place and underneath are the everlasting arms.

As the Lord as we undertake to open this passage of scripture, I pray for there to be a massive strength underneath us, holding us, making yourself felt to us as a great

God, a holy God, a righteous and good God.

Pray for those in the room who don't know you, Father, as a Father, friend, Savior, through Jesus Christ.

Their eyes would be opened and they would believe.

Pray for wavering saints,

pray for the confused,

I pray for the lonely, and pray for the depressed.

Oh God, there are a thousand ways for you to use the word of God beyond our intentions.

Apply it as a good physician to everybody's need in this room I pray.

Help me now to speak the word with truth and with freedom,
