Welcome to Our Henhouse. This is Jasmine Singer. This is Marianne Sullivan. And this week we will be speaking to vegan bodybuilder and author Robert Sheik about his latest book, The Impactful Vegan, which is an activism book.

And it's always lovely to catch up with Robert. We were able to have him join us for our live

flock Friday event that is also an interview. So some of you who are in the flock might have been

there. And if not, you missed a really great conversation,

and I'm super excited that you'll be able to hear it today.

Yeah, I thought it was really interesting to see how he's completely switched for this book.

He's always been into vegan bodybuilding, which is a really powerful thing to be talking about because it reaches a lot of people

that we would not otherwise reach.

But this was really about activism and his opinions on how to be the most impactful kind of

activist, some of which I agreed with. I'm not sure I agreed with all of them, but that is what

makes the conversation interesting. I totally agree with that. I mean, it was a really cool

conversation. And another really cool

conversation I heard this week was with you and Wayne Chung on his podcast, The Simple Heart,

where you were a guest, and you were fantastic. I loved this conversation.

Oh, that's nice of you to say. I enjoyed the conversation a lot. He's a lot of fun to talk to because he's so open and he has a lot of thoughts about everything. And his podcast is long. I think we went, I mean, it's well, well over an hour. So I was a little exhausted by the end, but I just really enjoyed the conversation.

I can't deny it. I hope people check it out. Yeah, I agree. Well, we'll link to it.

It was about, it was about animal law, but it was in a way that I think that people could really connect with and enjoy. Yeah, and it was about animal law, but it was certainly not geared toward

lawyers. Right. And it wasn't just about animal law. It was pretty wide-ranging, you know,

about our theories of change and just how we started and how we got into it and why everybody

is so fucking stupid. All of that. Yeah. You always have away with words. I'm more the one who says that kind of thing. White is a little more upbeat than I am. Well, it was, you know, at the very, very beginning of the interview, he was like, oh, Marianne, I'm so glad to talk to you. You're the reason I went to prison. More or less. He more or less said that.

That was very sweet, actually, because he was just giving credit to an article I wrote 20

years ago for, you know, being one of the things that started him on his journey.
