Your life is held together because Jesus is God.

Your life is coming together because Jesus is God.

We have a life he sustains. All things are held together through him.

The uncertainty, the uneasiness, the struggle, the disappointments, the difficulties,

all part of his sustaining plan. And heians, Paul said this about Jesus. He is the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation, for by

him all things were created. He is before all things and in him all things hold together.

Today on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall helps us appreciate the depth of this beautiful passage,

especially as it defines the character of Jesus.

He is united with God and he existed

before the beginning of time. In today's study we'll explore what Chuck calls

the identity of deity. Jesus himself wants to know what the word is on the street regarding his identity.

Matthew 16, Matthew 16 verse 13.

When Jesus came into the district of Cessary of Philippi, he began asking his disciples

saying, who do people say the son of man is? Isn't that an interesting question?

He's now conducting his own random interview and he's

asking his followers, what do you hear on the street? When you're out among the people,

who do they say I am?

And these men answered exactly what they had heard.

verse 14. Some say you're John the Baptist. They think you've actually risen from the dead.

Herod had you beheaded but they think miraculously you've come back to Earth and

they say you're John the baptizer. Some say you're Elijah. Others say you are
