Otheotocis and Virgin Rejoys. Now telling the history of the Russian Orthodox Church

especially in its early days, is fraught with problems, mostly because of the lack of credible material. When the Mongols invaded in 1240, so much of the written history was lost due to the destruction of so many churches and actually whole cities.

What we were left with is the primary chronicle and a history rewritten by church
