Hey, Kate. How are you?

I'm fine. We can't really chat because this is a really big case. It should be a three-porter.

I know I say that. I really mean it with this case. But, you know, there's a lot to absorb here,

and we haven't even gotten to suspects or a lot more circumstances that you need to know about.

What do you remember?

Well, I agree. It's a large case. Obviously, you have an entire family that's been killed. You know, they're out on this somewhat remote location, this Gruba farm that is located,

what is it, about 60 miles north of Munich in Germany. 1922, when the family has not been seen for days,

you know, three men go to check on them

and they find the older couple that owns the farm,

Andreas and his wife, dead in a back area of this barn location.

Their daughter, who's 35 years old, Victoria is also dead, and they've been put in sort of a pile underneath hay and a board.

Victoria's seven-year-old girl is also found dead in this same general location. But she was in a seated position and it appears that she possibly lived for several

hours, even though she suffered massive injuries to her lower face as well as her throat

being cut. The three men then go through this barn structure to the living area, and they find
