They're called micro dramas, short vertical two-minute episodes.

Think soap operas but built for the TikTok era.

Millions of people, especially in the U.S., are downloading the apps, binging the shows, and paying to watch.

I watch the whole thing. They're just so entertaining for no reason.

I eat them up.

And they're paying a lot.

Revenue from microdrama apps passed $6.9 billion in China last year.

The movies are cheap to produce, and they generate a ton of revenue.

I'm very aware that some of my movies have made over $30 million, and we've made it for $200,000.

And now U.S. studios are getting involved as well.

One of the most popular apps is called Real Short.
