| 1:39.3 | As a 112-pound 18-year-old soldier in World War II, I served in five campaigns in France, Belgium, and |
| 1:47.8 | Germany, including the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. |
| 1:53.0 | Battle of Bulge was the largest land battle, the U.S. Army ever fought, and it was in freezing |
| 1:58.3 | cold weather. |
| 2:00.5 | I was a member of the 607th Graves Registration Company, |
| 2:05.6 | which was comprised of 124 listed men and officers. |
| 2:09.6 | Our job was to gather the dead from the battlefields in, well, in harm's way, most of the time, |
