Rally organiser and founder of the Red Heart campaign, an Australian Femicide Watch,

Shirel Moody, documents the deaths of all women and children as a result of murder,

manslaughter and neglect. In 2024, 103 women were killed and 16 children. Behind each one,

there's a grieving family. The other important

message being delivered is that gendered violence isn't a women's problem, it's a men's

problem that they also need to help address. You can't talk about true crime in Australia without talking about violence against women and children.

Journalist Shirell Moody has immersed herself in it. For many years now, Shirell has tracked every

violent death of a woman or child in the country on what she calls the Australian

Shirel's passion for the issue was born of many of her own experiences, including the

crimes of her own stepfather, and she joins us on Australian True Crime to talk about
