Well, the government is closed, shutting down for the first time in nearly seven years after lawmakers

from both parties failed to reach a deal.

Today in Washington, D.C. and other cities across the country, the notices are up and the buildings are closed.

Democrats and Republicans arriving on Capitol Hill to a stalemate.

Still time for Democrats to pass this clean bipartisan bill that's sitting before them. And we encourage

our Democrat colleagues to do that. Well, here we are again. The government has shut down.

And lawmakers are fighting it out. Meanwhile, families across America are wondering, well,

what does this mean for us right now? I have to go to the airport today. Is TSA still there keeping us

safe? What about the mechanics who are looking after the airplanes? What about the post office?

What about Social Security? Well, let's break it down, simple and quickly. So here's the good news.

Social security checks will still go out. My understanding is Medicare,

Medicaid, they all keep running, food stamps, all of that continues for now. The military,

these are government workers, they're still standing guard. Plains are flying, air traffic

controllers, TSA workers, they're all still on the job. Courts are continuing to work for a while,
