There has always been a battle between light and darkness.

Our God is a God of perfect order and the Word of God is an unfolding of his perfect order.

In Ephesians chapter 6 we're looking at the whole armor of God and putting on the Lord Jesus Christ.

And I just absolutely love the progression of truth that the Holy Spirit gives us here because when he

begins to describe this armor he starts with what holds it all together which is the belt of

truth having your having your mind filled with God's truth but then immediately he goes to

the heart to the heart of the matter listen to Ephesians chapter 6 and verse number 14,

stand therefore having your loins gird about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness.

Now what does the breastplate do? The breastplate, it was that part of the Roman armor

that guarded literally the internal organs, the heart. For example,

in our vernacular today, if someone wears a bulletproof vest, why are they wearing a bulletproof vest?

It doesn't guard the whole body, but it guards the heart, the vital organs. It's the same principle.

It's the heart of the matter. Now, you remember

that I said to you that each piece of the armor is really just a perspective on Christ. Each piece

is just a picture of the sufficiency of the Lord Jesus. So Christ is the truth. That's loins girt about

with truth. But Christ is our righteousness.
