The health benefits of citrus, okay?

0:25.5

We're talking about lemons and limes.

0:28.2

Of course, orange and grapefruit are also citrus, but those two have too much sugar.

0:34.2

So we're going to mainly talk about lemons and limes.

0:37.0

So the citrus fruits have many, many vital nutrients, okay?

0:41.3

But we're going to mainly talk about the flavonoids, okay?

0:44.3

One type of flavonoids is called bioflavinoids, which is part of the vitamin C complex

0:50.3

and very, very important in gum health, like your gums, if you have bleeding gums,

0:56.3

it can actually reverse that pretty quick. So I'm not just talking about vitamin C being

1:00.8

acorbic acid. I'm talking about the whole vitamin C complex. This is why I encourage people to get

1:06.0

the majority of their vitamins from food because you get the complete complex. Like the vitamin C

1:18.5

but the leaves, the roots, and the flowers of the lemon and the lime tree. Now, lemon and limes

1:24.9

1:30.8

which is folate. They have calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. But I wouldn't depend on

1:38.4

getting your vitamins and minerals from lemons and limes. The thing that you want to get from lemons

1:43.5

and limes is the flavonoates.

1:45.7

Okay. Why? Because they have some very cool properties. Anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, antiviral,

1:54.2

antifungal, anti-diabetic. Now, I've done so many of these videos with different plants and vegetables and herbs.

2:01.6

And it seems like they all have these same common benefits.
