Summary

This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!

The Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City has a long and dark history. It operated as a prison for 168 years and was the oldest continuously running prison west of the Mississippi until it closed its doors in 2004.

Numerous injuries, deaths, and a significant riot in 1954 prompted Time Magazine to call the prison "the bloodiest 47 acres in America." Today, guides and visitors report lots of paranormal activity - apparitions, strange sounds, and creepy feelings permeate the historic hallways. Apparently, many prisoners and even guards never left.

This is Part Two of our conversation with Ghost Tour Guide Jenny Switzer about the history and hauntings of the Missouri State Penitentiary.
