14-year-old Keith Jesperson wiped the tears off his cheek as he ran down the dock that

jutted into the Atlantic.

But the tranquil ocean waves did little to calm his anger.

The trip to Fogo Island was supposed to be fun, a relaxing family vacation that everyone

could enjoy.

But once again, Keith's father had ruined everything.

Keith looked to see if anyone from his family had followed him, but no one was there.

Good, he thought.

He hated them.
