I'm Sadata Sese, an assistant commissioner of podcasts for BBC Sounds.

I pull a lot of levers to support a diverse range of podcasts on all sorts of subjects,

relationships, identity, comedy, even one that mixes poetry, music and inner city life.

The COVID crisis has been like nothing in living memory.

Shops, pubs, hairdressers, even schools closed, causing incredible turmoil for workers and businesses.

The government spent over £100 billion just supporting jobs through schemes like furlough,

and at the worst point of the crisis, the economy shrank by more than a fifth.

So how has this shaped our finances? What will it mean for our futures?

For the last three weeks, I've been talking to individuals, businesses and council leaders

and finding out how the pandemic has changed their financial prospects and their financial futures.

There have been some real highs and some devastating lows.

This is The Hangover.

Analyzing the economics of this crisis is a bit like analyzing the COVID caseload.

You have to look at today's numbers and work out where we might be in the coming weeks.

But if anyone can do it, then it's going to be our panel.
