Father, we come before you and are so thankful for the rain outside.

Thank you for showering your grace upon us, Lord. Your Bible says it rains on the just

and the unjust. And Lord, we are certainly not deserving but are so very thankful for it.

We pray that as you do a cleansing work in the sky outside through the rain, you scrub and clean

our air, you would do the very same thing in our hearts this morning by the washing and regeneration

of the Holy Spirit and your word upon our hearts. We surrender this time and we thank you in

advance for what you're going to do in it and Jesus name we pray. Amen. All right, this morning we're

going to be looking at the greatest question. It's not the greatest question because I say it's the

greatest question. It's the greatest question because it's the question that Jesus asked of the

disciples. We're going to go to Matthew chapter 6. We're going to be looking at verse 13 through

20 and we're going to answer the greatest questions by the answer that Peter gives. But before we do,

there's two other things that we're going to see in this passage that I think are also vitally

important and that is who Jesus is and what he did. Who Jesus is and what he did also known as the

person of Christ and the work of Christ. The most important thing because as we read this passage,

we're going to see the world then as the world today tries to define who Jesus is and his followers

as well also define as we do today who Jesus is which then in turn determines how we live. So here

picking up in Matthew chapter 16 verse 13, let's see who Jesus is to the world. Jesus comes to this

area, this region of Caesarea of Philippi and he asks his disciples, who do men say that I, the

son of man, M. Now first the location, Caesarea of Philippi. There's a history here and at this

present time when Jesus is there with the disciples, this is a purely pagan Gentile worship location.
