Hi, my name is Pete Kizzerro.

I want to welcome you here today to the Emotionally Healthy Leader podcast.

And today I want to introduce a message that you're going to hear.

It's called the greatest miracle of all learning to love.

This truth actually changed my life.

It got me on the journey that what we call today emotionally healthy discipleship

because love and learning to love and growing in love was not

my highest priority as a Christ follower.

So personally, once I got the truth of what you're going to hear in this message, it changed

my to-do list, my priorities, my pace, and my time of my personal life in every arena.

Changed my leadership in terms of what I was trying to do, who I was hiring, who I was

releasing into leadership, the way I was mentoring people in terms of their development and

character, and it also changed the way we did church and New Life Fellowship and our goals

of discipleship.

And out of this, actually, the message you're going to hear today is what really launched us into

our journey that we called emotionally healthy discipleship in 1996 and why we have two courses.

The emotionally discipleship course has two parts, spirituality and relationships because it's

loving God and it's loving people. And what made Jesus and Paul so unique is that they refused to accept a super spirituality that neglected love. So this message is based on 1st Corinthians 13. And I used to say, like many people say, I'd be a great Christian if it wasn't for people

who drive me crazy and irritate me and hurt me. So this message is based on 1st Corinthians 13.

When Paul writes that famous passage that is used at weddings, you know, if I speak in the tongues

of humans or of angels, but do not have love, I'm only a resounding gong or a clinging symbol.

If I don't have love, I have nothing, et cetera. And so Paul drops a bomb. He's writing as to a gifted
