Summary

Since so many of you are new to Pantsuit Politics, we thought we would rebroadcast one of our earlier episodes in which our different approaches are more readily apparent. In this episode, we imagine a world in which Sarah is the Democrat's nominee and Beth is the Republican's nominee. Spoiler alert: it's a far cry from what we anticipate seeing on the real debate stage.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. 1:36.4

We decided on some pre-discuss topics and some pre-discuss questions, so we're going to mix them up as we go along.

1:44.8

And this should be fun. So we're going to treat it just like a real debate between the two candidates and see where we stand, where we on certain issues, where we agree, where we differ.

1:55.4

And where we can move forward on a lot of issues that we've been discussing throughout season two and even before that.

2:03.2

So we're going to begin by doing our opening statements.

2:06.2

So we're going to allow the incumbent party to open first.

2:10.2

So Sarah, would you like to give your opening remarks?

2:14.2

Of course. So this is Sarah from the left and as some of you know, I'm an eighth generation Kentucky in and about seven years ago,

2:23.2

I left my home in the big city to because my beloved red state called me home and I'm running for Paducas City Commission because my small hometown is my passion and I believe that city government can help it thrive for decades to come.

2:35.0

And I say all that because I want to acknowledge the nuance of the small town girl dedicated to her red state arguing for the party of big government.

2:44.8

So I'm a lifelong Democrat proud Democrat and I know that it sounds really good to say that we should always keep government small.
