I'm call upon him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts.

Let him return to the Lord that he may have mercy on him and to our God for he will abundantly pardon.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts.

Neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord,

for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts

than your thoughts.

My prayer this morning and my aim for the message is that every person in this room before we're done will call upon the Lord.

Believers need to call upon the Lord continually in order that you might keep yourself in the love of God. That's what it says in Jude 21.

Unbelievers need to call upon the Lord decisively that you might be saved.

That's what it says in Romans 1013. Everyone who calls upon the

Lord will be saved. So there is not a person in this room for whom this text is irrelevant.

Everybody in this room needs to call upon the Lord this morning.

Some need to call upon the Lord that you might not be left in the hardness and unbelief of sin as the window of opportunity closes.

And others need to call upon the Lord so that you might not miss out on that special blessing of guidance or of help or of kindness that the Lord has to give you today.

The message has two parts.

The first is to show you from the Word of God

what it means to seek the Lord from Isaiah. The second part is to show you

why you should want to seek the Lord. And so I'd like to take those two one at a time.

And just out of Isaiah, unfold first, what does it mean to seek the Lord?

First of all, from verse six, to seek the Lord means to call upon

the Lord. Let's read that verse.

Seek the Lord while he may be found.
