We have a tendency to move very quickly from message to message and message to message.

And we don't really take the time to brood or to meditate or to let the Holy Spirit bring something into a state of germination.

And one of the first things we learn about

the Spirit of God is that he hovers. In the beginning, God created the heavens in the earth, the earth

was out form, void, darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of the Lord moved on

is the word hovered. And it is almost the best anthropomorphic picture we could get of that

would be like a mother hen laying on her eggs god got so desperately involved with the situation of

the earth that something began to move and something begin to be produced as a consequence

of his involvement. That's why you won't really find in the Bible a clear teaching that tells

us we should read the Bible, although we should read the Bible. The Bible actually teaches us that the word of God needs to be

memorized and meditated on. The word meditate, as many as you have heard before, is a picture of a

cow chewing the cud, which means the cow will ingest, will then re-agurgitate into its mouth,

will then ingest, and then we'll re-agurgitate into its mouth, we'll then ingest, and then we'll re-agurgitate into its mouth again,

continually bringing that that is in them up.

And so the thing that God has put in you cannot just be enjoyed, and then we can't wait to get another meal.

This is what's happened in the very entertainment-driven

church. Come give me another great message. Well, do something with the last one you got or we'll just

keep preaching it over and over again. And that's what I want. When God really speaks something to me

that affects me, I don't shake it and go to work

in the morning. That thing's going to stay in me and we have been given an incredible gift in our

culture of technology, of being able to take these words and listen to them over and over again,
