For decades, the conservative movement worked relentlessly to restrict or ban abortion

in the United States.

Along the way, the Republican Party used opposition to abortion rights as a reliable

vote-gather.

But since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year and restrictive trigger laws

clicked into place across the country, the conservative movement's huge victory has become

more complicated for Republicans.

They've lost elections.

They should have won.

From Kansas to the midterms to Wisconsin.

It turns out abortion rights are energizing Democrats, younger voters, and suburban independence

while Republicans struggle to craft a response.

Now with the 2024 election taking shape, many in the party are trying to figure out how

to get out of what looks like an electoral dead end.
