This is the movement of the Holy Family.

So welcome to our Rosary meditation.

We are literally on the shore of the Sea of Galilee as we are about to pray the luminous mysteries.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call in mind all those we've promised to pray for, especially for Patrick and

Catherine Hogan and for the healing of little Olivia and Margot through the intercession of Blessed Pauline Jericho.

The first luminous mystery is the baptism in the Jordan River where we were earlier today.

The luminous mysteries are called luminous because they illuminate something.

They shed light on some truth.

During this rosary we'll talk about how they each shed light on some aspect of the goodness of the human condition.

And the first is clear enough.

At Jesus baptism, he is recognized as a son of God,

with whom his father is well pleased, so too at our baptisms we become sons or daughters of God,

pleasing to him. of God says that he is well pleased with Jesus before Jesus does any public service,

before Jesus carries out any of his saving activities.

God the Father isn't pleased with his son because he's a high performance kid.

God the Father is pleased with his son because he is his son.

Because Jesus being good.

Because Jesus' being is good, and the Father loves him simply because Jesus is his child.

So the first truth of the human condition then, which the luminous mysteries illuminate, is that our being is good.

Reality is this.

God is good, and he created a good world and you are good and he is bringing everything to a good conclusion.
