All right, there we are. Hello and welcome back to the ugly truth about the girl next door. I am

Lori, and I am here with Darren Folger. Darren, I met Darren when he listened to the podcast. I don't

know, Darren, how long ago? From the beginning. Okay, so that means like from February, March,

ish, and he was listening to the podcast and reached out to me as the executive pastor of

the well, which is a church in Amherst, New York. And Darren was wanting to collaborate on bringing

more trauma-informed approaches to church-based counseling. So honestly, we had to navigate

through a little bit of a process there because at that point

I was kind of cautious about connections frankly people that were coming to us through the

podcast not really being sure was this going to be a positive or a negative but obviously we're

sitting here today so it ended up being very much a positive so I don't know Darren can you

talk a little bit about sort of how we got here?

Wow.

That's a big question.

It is a big question.

So being the executive pastor at the well, I joined the staff there at the well in September of 2021.

Prior to that, my whole life was in my whole business life career life was in

corporate America I was currently working in supply chain a lot of supply chain

management and operations management background over the years and so on and

this opportunity to be the executive pastor at the well, I had no idea it was there.

And I was approached about taking on that position.

Being a pastor was something that was on my mind and heart for probably decades,

but it's just never something that worked out.
