Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters, and like the loud peals of thunder shouting, hallelujah, for our Lord God Almighty reigns.

There was this newlywed couple who took a walk along the coast under a perfectly clear starlit night.

And eventually they strolled up over the sand dunes and onto this beautiful quintessential grassy

knoll.

They spread out a blanket and began stargazing for a moment.

And then one thing led to another, and they started to do what young lovers tend to do lying by the ocean

as the waves roll in on a perfectly clear starlit night.

What they didn't know is that the grassy knoll that they were tussling around on was in fact

a portion of a church garden.

And the priest, noticing the two of them out of his parsonage window, decided that

this was the perfect opportunity for a prayer walk through his garden. So he walks out to these two

young lovers who don't even notice him as they're tussling around on the grass, and then he very

loudly and demonstrably clears his throats and they sit up startled expecting a stern

religious rebuke and he leans in not with a rebuke but a question what is this got to do with that

what does what you're doing down here have to do with the wonder of the cosmos

up there? And then he strolled back to his home, leaving them to it. What's this got to do

with that? I'm borrowing this story from a notable Catholic scholar, but it's a huge question he
