Joseph James DeAngelo Jr., a name that almost everyone can recognize, was born on November

8, 1945 in Bath, New York, and was the oldest of four

children. According to reports by relatives, Joseph was very young when he witnessed his

seven-year-old sister being raped by two airmen in a Germany warehouse. And, following his

conviction, one of his sisters claimed that Joseph was abused by their father throughout his young life.

Between 1959 and 1960, Joseph attended Mills Junior High School in Rancho, Cordova, California,

and, after attending Folsom High School for a bit, he left school and got his GED in 1964.

This was around the same time that he committed his first set of burglaries and was known to

torture and kill small animals throughout his teen years, an action that, for whatever reason,
