God is not whimsical or capricious or arbitrary in the use of his power so that all he can

say when he does what he does is I'm God and I'm mighty and therefore what I do is right.

Might makes right.

Not what he says. says he says I use my

might in a particular way namely to abase the proud and exalt the humble so that the way I work

in the world corresponds to the excellence of my name and I deserve worship and I deserve love and I deserve worship, and I deserve love, and I deserve allegiance. You don't.

I think you would agree it's one thing to believe God is powerful. It's another thing to trust

The Lord said to Job, shall a fault finder contend with the Almighty.

He who argues with God, let him answer it.

This is the beginning of chapter 40. Job answered the Lord, behold, I am a small account.

What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand on my mouth. I have spoken once and I will not answer

twice, but I will proceed no further.

So Job is now humbled by God's speech to him.

Again, God challenges him in verses 6 to 9 and 40.

Girt up your loins like a man.

I'll question you.
