I'd like to read some verses from Jeremiah 14 and then pray with you and jump right into chapter 2 of the pleasures of God.

Jeremiah 1419, Jeremiah crying out to the Lord like this, hast thou utterly rejected Judah,

does thy soul loathe Zion? Why hast thou smitten us so that there is no healing for us?

We looked for peace, but no good came, for a time of healing,

but behold terror. We acknowledge our wickedness, O Lord, and the iniquity of our fathers,

for we have sinned against thee. Do not spurn us, for thy namesake. Do not dishonor thy glorious throne. Remember and do not break

thy covenant with us. Are there any among the false gods of the nations that can bring rain?

Or can the heavens give showers? Art thou not he lord our god we set our hope on thee for thou doest all these things let's pray

so we cry to you tonight lord for, for your namesake, deliver us from the evil one.

For your namesake, forgive our sins.

For your namesake, empower our teaching.

For your namesake, heal our broken hearts. For your namesake, demonstrate your sovereignty.

For your namesake, O Lord, show that you are the one who do all these things.

And for your namesake, cause our hope to be fixed on you. So magnify your name and your glory

and your centrality in the universe and grant us as human beings to realize how small we are.
