Welcome to Karen Hunter's awesome. I'm Karen Hunter. And today I want to talk about poll to poll. No, this is not a discussion of strippers.

This is a docu-series produced by Will Smith in conjunction with National Geographic,

where Will Smith, the actor, Oscar award-winning actor and quote-unquote rapper, takes us on a 100-day journey across the world.

And it is powerful when I saw it.

Now, those of you who know me, you know I love naked and afraid, alone.

I like Survivor.

I like to watch people in the wild navigate themselves because really that's the journey.

And this is no different. You know, we get to learn a lot about Will Smith and this, however you feel about him.

What I absolutely love is that this is a man who is living his life very out front.

We get to see all of his failures and comeuppance and triumphs and things that he's

soul searching are playing out in this 100-day journey that he's taking to different lands.

In episode one, we are with him as he goes to the South Pole. That's episode one, one of the

coldest places in the world. We could see this man out. And what's powerful is he's taking this journey with a guy named Richard Parks,

who the world will describe as a Welsh endurance athlete, former rugby player.

But he describes himself as a black man in these very cold places.

And the uniqueness of him being the guide is so powerful. I absolutely loved it.

It made me think about Matthew Henson, who was the first person to step foot on the North Pole.

Yes, don't look at the history books. Look at what Matthew Henson said. Matthew Henson was an explorer

who, this is a rabbit hole that you should go down,

who was on the first expedition in 1891. He served as a navigator. As a navigator, you're probably

going to be the first person to say, hey, here's where we are. And he was a craftsman. And he was

the quote unquote first man. You know, when we think about Columbus and all of these people,
