He's a social scientist of some renown.

He's a prolific author. His early

books were blockbusters that changed the conversation, losing ground and assessment of the

unintended deleterious consequences of social welfare policy in the decades after 1960.

and class structure in American social life

is still being talked about.

Many other books besides human diversity,

this huge, massive synthetic undertaking

of examining differences in human populations

that have biological foundation, coming apart, which is an assessment of the disparities in life

experiences by class and American society that, again, was a very important intervention in the

public conversation. So Charles is an estimable social scientist, an intellectual. He's a meritist

senior scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. If I get that correct, Charles. Close enough.
