Scarily unnatural

unnatural, written my weird news.

I'm a hunter.

I'm not exactly a paranormal believer, but I've had a couple experiences while hunting or hiking that I just can't explain rationally.

The most unnerving one happened probably seven or eight years ago. Normally I'd hunt on some property

that my family owns, but this time I decided to hunt on public land, just wanted a change of

scenery. And although it was fall, it was a fairly uncharacteristically warm day.

As I pulled to the spot apart, I noticed a couple of good old boys dressed in Hunter Orange also there.

Wouldn't have been weird except there was no truck or vehicle. They also didn't have guns with them.

I just figured that they were backpackers or campers, not uncommon to see on weekends.

They seemed friendly enough. There was absolutely nothing said to make them seem any different than the hundreds of other fellows I've met hunting.

Just a couple of hillbillies from the sounds of it.

We talked for a couple of minutes, they took off.

I sat on my phone for a bit trying to give them a head start. I guess I didn't wait long enough.

Ten minutes up the trail, I heard noises. It sounded bigger than a squirrel.

But I like seeing any sort of animals. It didn't sound too far off the main path.

When I crept off the path the ground started to drop. I was able to look down to see

what animals were making the noises. But what do I see? My new hillbilly

pals. Except they weren't acting right at all. They weren't moving like normal people. Their

movements were jerky.

It's almost like they've forgotten that things like knees and other joints were able to bend.

I didn't stick around long because frankly it was terrifying. I backed away slowly and quiet to the trail, then hauled it back to my car.
